Gordon MacLeod is a Scottish author who was brought up on the Isle of Arran.

His first novel, ‘Silicon Glen’, was published in July 2009, and was compared by his publisher to Whisky Galore.
His second novel, '76', was published in July 2011, and retold the story of the Clearances that affected communities across the Isle of Arran, and took us to some other notable parts of the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.
It was given good reviews in both the United Kingdom and the United States.

In December 2012, it reached 65th in the Kindle Best Sellers Adventure list.

'Just a Little Drop More' is his third novel, which was released in July 2012, revealing a more serious side to his writing. One reviewer has compared it to 'The Corrections' by Jonathan Franzen.
If you have ever wondered about just how much trust you would need to be dependent upon others for just about everything, only to find that trust is misplaced, then this is the book for you.
Some things are 'out of sight, out of mind', but in this work they are laid bare. This is an
utterly shocking yet gripping account of man's inhumanity to his own kind.

He is currently working on a fourth novel, 'Beyond the Tree at Mamre', which he expects to finish in the summer of 2013, before writing a small three Act play. He expects both works to be controversial given the themes he covers in these two works.

Gordon welcomes the Scottish Government's decision to reverse the leasing decision on fishing and shooting rights on the island of Raasay, which the crofters there had built up over 18 years, to the highest bidder from outwith the island.
He believes it is the role of Government to support local island communities.

Gordon commends the work of the Arran Youth Foundation, who are trying to provide a range of activities for the younger people living on the most beautiful island in Scotland, and C.O.A.S.T, who are trying to preserve the marine environment in the waters around Arran, http://www.arrancoast.com

He also endorses the work of the Arran Hospice Charity, and the aim of enabling islanders to receive end of life/specialist palliative care on the island. You can read about this good work on:

Gordon's first three novels are a personal tribute to Arran and the significant influence which it has had upon his life.
As the copyright holder of his work, he welcomes offers from any publisher who might wish to publish the three novels together at a future date as an Arran Trilogy.
